Pre-implantation Genetic Tests for Aneuploidies - PGT-A (formerly called Pre-implantation Genetic Screening, PGS) have been discussed as an important prognostic tool in IVF labs. Some defend its usefulness for all cycles, once it could prevent miscarriages and improve clinical pregnancy rates. However, mathematical models showed a possible mistake in discarding up to 40% of embryos (that could be healthy children!). What do you think about using PGT-A for all? I do not agree. Actually, I defend its exclusive use for very well-selected cases.
There are many concerns about PGT ,
especially before to recommend PGT to a couple indications should be determined
who will be candidates for PGT?
-recurrent miscarriages
-reccurrent implantation failure
-advanced maternal age
-diminished ovarian reserve/POI
-male factor?......
ın my opinion ıt is early to recommend it for all cycles but also we know that morphology is not a mirror for genetic structure.
so indications must be determined firstly and we have to wait studies about that issue..
I totally agree with your opinion! I believe only the industry has a clear benefit.
