Pararetroviruses are common in solanaceous plants. We found Tobacco vein-clearing virus (Caulimoviridae) - like virus in tomato and potato RNAseq pools. Is there any confirmed cryptic-virus-free plant species of cultivars within this family that can be used to study the interaction between cryptic and other viruses?
In Egypt, especially in the northern coasts, they have a plant that combines the characteristics of the eggplant and the tomato, as if it were a hybrid. This plant is resistant to all kinds of viruses. Some tissue culture scientists have taken it as a source of the resistance genes to make genetically engineered plants that are resistant to viruses. It also does not contain any of the latency. I have the seeds of this plant but how can I send them for you?

I mean viruses similar to the Tobacco vein-clearing virus (Caulimoviridae). Tobacco vein-clearing virus infections have only been observed in Nicotiana edwardsonii, although TVCV sequences are present in Nicotiana sylvestris, Nicotiana tabacum, Nicotiana tomentosiformis, Solanum habrochaites, Solanum lycopersicum, and many related sequences have been detected in several other plant species in the Solanaceae. The recent work by de Tomas and Vicient (2022) indicated that in the 278 analyzed plant genomes corresponding to 267 species (254 from Viridiplantae) 11.527 pararetrovirus sequences from the genomes of 202 species spanning the whole Tracheophyta clade were found.
Solanum plants has from 29 to 35 virus copies, Nicotiana - from 12 to 130 copies.
It looks like the answer for my question(Is there any confirmed cryptic-virus-free species or cultivars in this family?) is NO.
