Could some one suggest a free package to plot pole figures arising from the distribution of grain orientations? This might able to read in a set of these orientations specified in a formatted text file. Excuse me if your suggestions are neper, matlab based.

Thanks for the link. This seems a nice way to plot the poles given that the orientations are described in a .uxd format which are typically outputted by an x-ray diffraction experimental set-up. What i currently have is a plane formatted files that describes the orientations for each crystal in a single row for hkl crystal axis components. I would need to check the .uxd format first and find a way to port the plain format to this format in whatever way that seems viable. You could probably share your experience here.
