The orbital frontal cortex is a popular topic and there are a lot of literature concerning it's function. There are also several definitions in humans about what it actually is anatomically.
I would like to hear your opinions, if it is defined accurately enough by saying that it constitutes the Brodman areas 10, 11, and 47?
I don't think this definition is accurate enough.

I do believe it is time to utilize the strengths of various different neuroimaging modalities (structure and function) to come up with a more accurate representation of the OFC and its function.
That is a very good review and I had missed it completely. Thank you! Maybe it's just me, but is it not odd, that such a popular subject is so ill defined? On the other hand, who could tell what is the posterior boundary of the temporal lobe? :-)
A very good question. I presume the development you refer to is in comparison to primates..? The orbitofrontal cortex of OFC lies in the ventral surface of the frontal lobe and is anatomically linked with the limbic system and the cortex of the anterior temporal lobe. It is important in cognitive functions.....
