I am conducting a study on the "Impact of Land Use and Land Cover (LULC) Changes on Land Surface Temperature (LST)" and plan to use Google Earth Engine (GEE) for my analysis. I am at a crossroads in deciding between the "USGS Landsat 8 Level 2, Collection 2, Tier 1" dataset and the "USGS Landsat 8 Collection 2 Tier 1 TOA Reflectance" dataset for LULC classification.
Could the community provide insights on:
Any shared experiences, particularly those related to the use of these datasets in GEE for LULC and LST studies, would be incredibly valuable.

Based on my experience, I used Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS Collection 2 atmospherically corrected surface reflectance data for my purpose of extracting NDVI, LST, NDBSI and Wetness. Notice by GEE: Landsat Collection 1 (and Pre-Collection) datasets will be removed from the Earth Engine Data Catalog starting in the second half of 2024, and computed datasets like 32-day NDVI will be generated from Collection 2. Use the migration guide to update your Earth Engine scripts, modules, and apps to Collection 2 by July 1, 2024 to avoid failed requests.
