I haven't found any notice whether they accept video files with the paper. If, indeed, they don't, is it ok to cite on videos hosted on youtube? What is a common practice in such case? Thanks
I've known other material such as videos be made available online through a journal website in the same way that you can provide supplementary data, although I can't remember which journal it was.
Dear Arthur, I have seen this page and thought so too. The problem is that, firstly, the manuscript templates provided for OL (http://www.opticsinfobase.org/oe/submit/templates/default.cfm) do not include the example of citing the video file, while other journal templates (like optics express) include an example of such piece of code . Secondly, I haven't seen that other OL authors include videos, that made me suspicious.
Dear Arthur, thank you for helping out, you were right. I have found several papers with video attached, video is accepted, though it appeared to be not so self-obvious.
