Open science seems to become more and more important for Higher Education. I wonder if Open Science is an own Mission of HEI, or if it i one aspect of Third Mission of Higher Education Institutions.
What do you think?
In my opinion many parts, but not all aspects of open science belong to Third Mission, but Open access and Open data not.
Looking for a fruitful discussion on this topic.

Nice topic. I don't know why you think open access and open data do not belong to third mission? Aren't they supposed to be part of the open science ideal?
You are right, they definitely belong to open science, but I don’t see them as Third Mission element. That is why I wonder, if all open science formats belong to Third Mission.
In my opinion, open access and open data are more directly related to research, than to the third mission of HEIs.
If the objective were to generate a binary classification, for which it would be necessary to determine if these items belonged to one of the categories, excluding the other ('third mission' - 'open science'), I think the second option is better.
If, on the other hand, the focus is on determining relationships, regardless of their intensity, both open access and open data may have connections with the socio-economic context. For example, facilitating that people who are not scientists and can not use the same information tools as researchers, have access to information and data that are useful as a basis for technological developments with economic impact, or that contribute clarity to issues of social interest, etc.
As an example related to my point of view, it can be mentioned that in Argentina , in the regulation of Law 26,899 on open access institutional repositories (Res. 753 - E / 2016, Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation), aspects such as the following are mentioned: open access contributes to the socialization of information, the promotion of staff training, the public appropriation of research advances, social and productive development, the well-being of society, productive innovation, associativity and culture of collaboration, the management of public policies, the increase of the cultural, educational, social and economic heritage of the country, etc.

Actually our knowledge about medical school is so different. Ex. crying of infant give many thoughts to mother And/or pediatric but the real thing baby is just do cognitive experience
