I have the feeling that everything in chemistry related to information and data in particular is very sharded and obscured. Are there any projects ensuring more transparency and openess of the data? I am getting quite lost to be honest and would wish for more standards and unity in the field.

Look at Crystallography Open Database (COD). It's a free database for crystal structure. You can download the cif files to perform analysis and Rietveld refinement.
Library research is being replaced by computer based research. Both are valuable and for older literature library research is sometimes only way to go. Not sure what your complaint is, but the time spent on library/computer research is time well spent. Literature is based upon research done and may not consider other aspects that are now known or or interest to your research. I feel that it is a characteristic of science that is valuable in its usage. Sometimes, if not productive to your cause of search, it still can provide valuable general information that may become valuable in your deciphering of your data from the research you perform or even suggest limitations or methods of which you were unaware.
@Wayne Morris Thanks for your reply. I am not against literature research. It is of course time well spent. However, I realised, that there are a lot of different databases and file formats related to computational and experimental data.
To make it even worse a lot of data sits behind a paywall (this holds true for literature in most cases as well). I was just wondering if there is a unified approach to it already or at least ongoing project where I can contribute my data.

There are organizations you can join that provide access to their members of some sites that charge to open articles. Also most abstracts are free snd can provide sone insights.
