I have been working with .FID files from an Oxford Instrument Pulsar for a while now. I have been processing the spectra with MESTRENOVA, and I had no problem. However, I now want to use MATLAB for more specific processing. The thing is I am not able to open the .FID files with MATLAB, as they are encoded, and I have not been able to find any information or helpful package to open them. I would also be happy to do so with Python.
I am aware I can convert the .FID files into other formats that are easily read in MATLAB, but I would like to avoid that, as I am trying to automatize processes, and would not like to use other softwares in the future.
If anyone knows a useful package, or has any information, it will be amazing!

get the file description from the vendor or deduce it from the conversion matlab can automatically perform. Once you have the structure, use the equivalent of fclose | feof | ferror | fopen | frewind | ftell | fscanf | fprintf | fread | fwrite in Python.
