I am using methanol to dissolve ODA modified cellulose nano-fiber. I want to prepare modified film. But, upon drying (60oC) the film broken into pieces instead of full film. When I observed drying process, there is a bubble in the bottom of the solution. What should I do? Why the film does not peeled off as pristine nano-cellulose fiber does?

Please elaborate your preparation method. If it is drop-cast coating, I think it is difficult to peel out the polymer film, because of non-homogeneity. I suggest you to use the spin coating method to prepare the film in order to bring the homogeneity. Further can use Teflon surface for the pouring of membrane solution and peel it easily from Teflon surface.

the boiling point of methanol is 65 °C. That might be too close to your drying temperature. Yor're saying "modified cellulose nano-fiber". What's your dissolved, film-forming polymer?
