To what extent can we consider that the results of the nutritional quality are expressive (Ash, NDF, ADF, ADL, Protein) for plants consumed by a herbivore (antelope), if we take into account that the digestibility value is not calculated.
Thank you

Dear Chinaza Godswill Awuchi
Thank you very much for your reply
There are equations relating chemical composition of forages and digestibility. One of the most used is that from Peter Van Soest:
DMD (%) = 0,98 x (100 – %NDF) + (1,47 - 0,789 log 100xADL/ADF) x %NDF - 12,9.
Dear @Antonio De Vega
Thank you very much for your reply. Can this formula be used for all types of forages (grasses, forbs, shrubs and trees) ?
Dear Antonio De Vega
Thank you very much for your reply.
Is it possible to adopt this equation while neglecting the standard error (SE=4.06) reported by Deinun et al. (1968).
Can this formula be used for all types of forages (grasses, forbs, shrubs and trees) ?
