How smart will AI become and should we really be worried about it taking over the world? AI, like any technology can be used for good or bad purposes. And, when it comes to the development of super sophisticated software it’s up to us to put procedures, policies and safeguards in place so that AI aids our life – not runs it!
I hope you enjoy this episode of my “Future Talk” video series with Digital Communications expert Liz Buchanan, where we discuss life during and after Coronavirus (COVID-19). This episode stemmed from my watching a few episodes of new TV series called NEXT which is about Artificial Intelligence. Of course like all Sci-Fi dramas it has some unexpected (and expected) twists and turns, but it prompted me to talk about the potential of AI reaching human level capabilities and beyond – and contemplate what might be possible in the future.

The future trajectory of AI is subject to numerous factors and ongoing research. If anyone claims they have an immediate answer for you, then they are claiming they have access to the full body of knowledge on the subject matter including those that are not published publicly
Fascinating topic—and definitely one we can’t afford to ignore. I think the real question isn’t just how smart AI will become, but how responsibly we’ll guide its development. Intelligence without ethics or oversight could be dangerous. But if we’re intentional, collaborative, and forward-thinking, AI could amplify human potential in amazing ways rather than replace it.
