I am trying to replicate the design from the paper:

"Design of Bidirectional TWDM-PON Network for High-Speed Internet Access in Industrial Zones"

using OptiSystem 22.

The paper uses bidirectional optical fiber, circulators, and 1×64 bidirectional splitters for both upstream (around 1530 nm) and downstream (around 1550 nm).

I am not sure about:

1. How to connect circulators and bidirectional splitters properly for both directions.

2. Whether I should first build the downstream only with normal fibers/splitters, then replace them with bidirectional components later.

3. How to match the Q-factor results (~2.0) shown in the paper.

Any guidance or example files would be really helpful.
