I need to carry out a bulk electrolysis experiment to confirm the products of an enzyme reaction.
Up to now I have been carrying out cyclic voltammetry with a mediator (40uM).
How do I work out what mediator concentration I should use?
Also is it necessary to have the counter electrode in a separate solution?

I think that you can use any mediator concentration since it only will affect to the time needed to complete the reaction (if I=ct) or the current obtained (if t=ct). I should use a mediator concentration that permits a correct characterization of the products obtained.

I would definitely advise having the counterelectrode in a different compartment, separated by an appropriate membrane.
