I completed my dissertation and I am certain I have fulfilled my purpose when it came to the topic. However, I believe I missed my calling to be an engineer and wish that I had the opportunity to work in that area.
I was a rotary wing mechanic for years and loved it. Have you ever felt you missed your career calling and were you able to change that? I will not go back to school but wondering if it is possible to cross over.
Time and seasons all work together for our good. However, if you think you 've missed your calling, there is always a way out to get your foot back to your original passion. Today, everything is easy where you can be in your bedroom and still attain your best in terms of what you crave for.
There is no harms in trying again after missing or wasting some years doing what you believe is not your passion. You can still retrace your steps and get back to your footings. One of the greatest regrets in life is doing what you cannot proud of. Therefore, if your passion is in Engineering, why not go back and learn from the scratch and become whom the Lord has destined you to be. This will take a lot from you, but with your dexterity, doggedness, faith and focus (DDFF) your wish will come to pass. I wish you all the best.
James, after earning my doctorate there is no way I will ever return to school. Perhaps a door will open where I can use my degree in the aviation or aerospace field.
Laverne, yes! you can!! and anybody can!!! Like I said earlier all depend on an individual. I have seen and heard of people that have two to three PhDs in different fields at different time of their life journey. So, all depend on you. If you think you cannot, then follow your dreams, pray to God for directions and be happy!
