In The Mobile Story (chapter 5) Mark Sample talks about the difficulties of constructing compelling location-based stories.  In chapter 4, Jeff Ritchie explains that mobile narratives (especially transmedia narratives) have to be exceptionally rewarding in  order to be commensurate with the amount of effort required of the "reader" to follow such narratives.  Will authors be willing to construct such difficult narratives if the results risk ephemerality?
