Is the interior of closure of open ball equal to open ball in a metric space?
no
I AGREE WITH Raman Chauhan
Consider the set [0,1] with respect to the metric induced by the usual metric on R. Then the open ball B_1(0)=[0,1). Here int(cl(B_1(0)))=[0,1] which is not equal to B_1(0).
Suggest me some sets which are perfect but totally disconnected. I know Cantor set is an example of this type. But i am thinking about another example.
