I am undertaking research on the Middle East's media framing of terrorism events in the Middle East. I am searching for 'established' media frames as reference and comparison points.

I would visit many established media outlets and take a plethora of interviews. Be careful when you visit Middle East. I would also take into account statistics and figure out how these statistics pertaining to terrorism is actually coming from. The main question you must ask is "how did they get this data." Some news outlets provide extremely bias numbers to prove their points.
definitely, you selected the the hard path. As most of media if they are not all in the MENA are bias to many PESTLE factors.
