I would like to track through MCNP
(1) the interactions of the type (n,a) (n.p) and especially
(2) their spatial and angular distribution.
For (1) I have found the so called POLIMI extension while (2) is considered rather trivial. Nevertheless, still, I have not managed to find specific information regarding (1).
I would appreciated if anyone from the RG forum could assist regarding (1).
Are you using MCNP or MCNPX? MCNP cannot track alphas or protons so if you want to track them through your geometry after the interaction you will need MCNPX (or Geant4/other monte-carlo code).
I have an version of MCNP (4C) and I know that it may not track (n,p) & (n,a) tracks. I am about to purchase the new version of MCNP6 or MCNPX. I did not manage to figure out which version should be purchased. I understand from your reply that I should purchase MCNPX.
Regarding GEANT4 it needs advanced programming, whereas MCNP has the ability to get the minimum of information needed (although rather "black box").
Regarding custom coding, with neutrons, it is a bit complicated.

MCNP6 has the functionality of MCNP and MCNPX as far as I'm aware. They've combined the two codes and added some stuff to it. Good luck.
