Like the error message says, the LENNumeric function apparently needs input arguments. When you call the function, you need to pass it those values.

Calling the function from the matlab command line is passing values to the m file. What you did in your example:
[D,h, c] = LENnumeric( q, qd, qdd, Baxter_l )
is the usual way to run a function. Are you trying to do something different than this?
