I am interested in studying the convection-diffusion equation that control the behavior of mass transfer in 1D model. in particular, Iam looking for the behavior of mass transfer that diffuse in interface between two different systems where each system has different advection velocity. is there any paper or book that deals with such systems?

This is the case of systems where there are concentration gradients which cause diffusion. If there is bulk fluid motion, convection will also contribute to the flux of species. It is often interesting to understand the combined effect of both convection and diffusion.

thanks again for your reply, but do they talk about mass transfer between TWO MOBILE fluids?? as I read they focus on how they would diffuse inside the mediums, and they didnot mention how the mass would diffuse between these different mobile mediums. Thanks

Dear Bouaifi, I've seen the article " MODELLING OF MASS CONVECTION-DIFFUSION IN STENT-BASED DRUG DELIVERY ", in which it used a double layer of a diffusion Layer with a advection-diffusion layer. At the interface, the authors used the continuity of mass flux and made D1*dC1/dx = D2*dC2/dx (x = 0, 1 for diffusion Layer and 2 for advection diffusion layer). My question is for the advection-diffusion layer the mass flux should be J2 = U2*C2 - D2*dC2/dx, isn't it? why in the article for the interface, the advection contribution to the flux is neglected? Thnak you very much.
