North western Indian cotton belt is sole irrigated tract in pan India but it is under threat of pink boll worm which devastated the cotton during 2021.

Now new season would be starting in 60-90 days from today. The productivity in this part of India has been badly affected.

Though area to be cultivated is more than 10 lakh ha comprising states of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasathan but still apprehensions of damage are not being ruled out due to callous attitude of growers to remove stalks stacking around fields.

Lesson learnt by me is to remove entire cotton debris and stalks prior to next season cropping starts as this pest is monophagous and survives primary on cotton crop.

What are your opinions and guide lines to minimize the incidence of Pink boll worm.
