i have Mg-Zn specimen with 5,6% of Zn and i tried to make precipitation hardening by solution heat treatment at 300C for 2 hours to the as-cast specimen at and after that i aged it at 200 C for 1 hour. After that i etched it with picric acid and i got this micro structure. the problem is i don't know whether this microstructure is LPSO or not because as i know, LPSO only happen in Mg-Zn-RE (rare earth).
Detection of long period stacking order (LPSO) from optical micrograph is like detecting electron with magnifying glass. You may need to analyze SAED pattern for that.
Chandra Bhanu Basak can LPSO phase formed in Mg-Zn alloy or is it have to be Mg-Zn-RE? and can i know the reason?

Compared your results with other LPSO microstructure

there is no chance because the composition of the LPSO is Mg12 RE Zn or Mg10 RE Zn
LPSO can form in low amounts of RE. There is no most for high amounts of RE (Seyed Mehdi Ramezani ).
Dear Johanes Wijaya LPSO is detected using analysing SAED pattern, Or HRTEM otherwise, as Mr Chandra Bhanu Basak said it does not seems to be sensible to claim that there is LPSO in your microstructure using OM images.
E. Maleki there is exact content in the ratio of RE/Zn that determine which phase can form in Mg-RE-Zn alloys. In lower content than 0.5 cubic w phase can form and the ratio between 0.5-2 I phase can form and in higher content the situation is suitable for LPSO formation. That means is not only depend on RE amounts
