So, apparently there was never a need for low voltage modelling but because of the addition of unpredictable renewables and batteries and EVs, suddenly there is a big market out there for a good low voltage modelling software.

Unfortunately, no one has been able to design a software/technique where the networks are able to accurately model and then tell what the values are at certain locations without having to add more equipment to the network. It is essential for network providers to know this for the proper functioning of the network and to meet regulatory requirements. But because of the competitive market they are currently trying to find a software solution rather than having to resort to a high-cost hardware solution and are putting it off as much as they can, as they don't want to invest in hardware and then find out that there was an easier way of doing this.

I need to come up with a technique where the network has a 3 phase 4 wire multi grounded low voltage network and I need to model it so we know the voltage unbalance at the customer's end.

The neutral wire is multi-grounded. Neutral is supposed to be carrying nill voltage but because of resistance and voltage unbalance, it does not. So, in order to avoid faults and to save on costs by not putting an expensive/bigger conductor for the neutral, the networks initially used the multi ground approach. Where they would ground the neutral after a small distance. Now when modelling, this is causing problem as all voltages and currents need to be accounted for but with this grounding approach, the neutral wire voltages and currents are unaccounted for.

Even if you improve the communication medium for the smart meters the problem still persists, because, smart meters only measure phase voltage with respect to ground and the whole neutral wire being unaccounted for is still a problem.

Any comments/tips would be very helpful as I need a starting point.

Also please note that I am still an undergraduate student so please ignore any mistakes I have made or if I have misunderstood something.
