I am new to LCA and I may need some help.
SAS gives me item-response probabilities together with their SE. However, my intuition tells me that 95%CI should not be calculated using a traditional formula of estimate+/-1.96SE.
But what is the way of calculating the confidence interval then?
Your advice and/or references will be highly appreciated.

The standards are provided by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) in ISO 14040 and 14044, and describe the four main phases of Life Cycle Assesment (LCA):
1. goal and scope,
2. inventory analysis,
3. impact assessment.
4. interpretation.

You can perform uncertainty analysis, which is generally performed at 95% confidence interval (CI). However, depending on item response probabilities your can play around with the CI. I believe SAS may not be necessary for this simple test since most of the LCA softwares are equipped to perform uncertainty analysis and other statistical calculations within the boundaries of your study.

Thank you so much for your answer with clear explanations and references. I should have been more clear in my question and I should have anticipated this misunderstanding: I am currently performing a latent class analysis, which is different from the life cycle assessment.
