I am wondering about the case where the load is at any intermediate point along the beam and not at the endpoint. That would be a universal case. How to proceed with that?

Expression (4) changes to:

M = P(a - ux - x), a is the point of vertical load.

But thereafter, it has no effect because a is a constant and gets sorted in the differentiation process, and all other equations remain as it is.

If we calculate the end-slope angle Phi0 for load at 'a' instead of L, can we use equation (9) and compute Phi0?
