Exploring alternative fuels for aviation use and was wondering whether using LNG instead of jet fuel would be a better alternative than using Hydrogen combustion or Fuel Cells.
Alexey Danilov , thanks for the answer. But isn't water vapour a more potent greenhouse gas than CO2? I was of the impression that water vapour released into the stratosphere stays up there far longer and would thus have a more potent heat trapping effect than it does in the troposphere. Would greatly appreciate your help on this!
On average, water vapors probably account for about 60% of the warming effect. However, water vapor does not control the Earth’s temperature, but is instead controlled by the temperature. The greenhouse effect that has maintained the Earth’s temperature at a level warm enough over several millennia is controlled by non-condensable gases like carbon dioxide.
