The free election in Tunisia is a good news for democracy in Tunisia and in MENA countries in general.
This victory of democracy must not make us forget the challenges facing this country. This one should be a cause for concern, heralding economic, social, and political troubles ahead. .
Does Tunisia has the capacity to meet these challenges?
First, thanks for your attention to Tunisian election. Beyond the large challenges facing Tunisia (economic, social, etc…), Tunisians are happy because the vote was orderly with isolated irregularities. This small country has succeeded to prepare a fresh election. This seems a benefit. Notably, Tunisia has fared much better than the rest of “Arab Spring countries”. Despite several problems facing Tunisia, it has succeeded to avoid the civil war as Syria and the turmoil of Egypt, etc…
This peaceful election that sharply highlights the return to political stability may greatly enhance investment attractiveness and help to lift tourism out of its current slump (without neglecting the drastic efforts of Amal Karboul- minister of tourism in the government of technocrats- to promote this sector).
In sum, for me, this election seems a very important step in “bumpy road” to democracy that may have good repercussions on the whole economy in the future.
At this stage, i cannot effectively answer this question. Maybe, I can partially answer it on one month. We should wait that they form the new government and then the presidential election in November.
All I can say now is that Nidaa Tounes (i.e., the secular party winner in parliamentary vote) has outlined good plans to promote investments, to enhance education and health, to improve good governance and essentially to avoid terrorist attacks. Hope that these reforms will be achieved in five years, to keep a long-term confidence of Tunisians…

Now and after the elections, Tunisia need all Tunisians to construct first stable democracy to facilitate then the achievement of the other main goals of the revolution. Tunisia need a new kind of revolution (i.e., a revolution of mind and a revolution of working together). As quotes Nelson Mandella"It always seems impossible until it is done". And as says Mrs. Karboul in this video, working together is needed for better Tunisia and for better Africa...

The presidential elections take place in good conditions in Tunisia. We can say that this country is an example for other Arab countries. Remain the economic and social challenges.
