I am trying an antibody that binds specifically with the culturally adapted one. Giving a significant difference between positive and negative controls.
On the other hand, it does not bind specifically with the wild type in splenocytes
Wildtype virus is the one that is found as the prototype virus in nature. It is more virulent than that you cultured in lab, and that is why it is more immunogenic.
Certainly in most cases cultured virus reduces virulence as occurred for instance with TB in Calmette-Guerin experiment that gave BCG, but there are also possibilties and techniqhes for of the contrary, i.e., to increase inasivity,,gowing speed, and the like, consequently power for more patogenicity.
