There is an immediate an urgent need for the type of higher education institution that focusses primarily on resolving problems that continue to plague societies. Such problems are
a. socioeconomic: various types of poverty, unemployment, crime and delinquency, family life, migration, inflation; various forms of inequalities
b. political: rights and responsibilities; white collar crime, governance, relationships between countries,
c. engineering; urban planning and designs, rural development, construction of resilient buildings and other infrastructure,
d. creative and performing arts: developing business models for individuals and groups to enjoy a healthy standard of living from their involvement in the arts;
There are many other problems that can be addressed by other disciplines. Pathways can also be created to facilitate and accommodate innovations in these and other disciplines particularly in developing countries.
I'm happy to support this initiative, especially from a justice policy perspective.

This initiative seeks to address these persistent social problems through a higher education approach that features the following:
a. delivery of a societally- relevant problem- centered (synonymous with solution- focused) approaches in teaching, research and community engagement;
b. prioritizing collaborations in teaching, research and community service;
c. consistent evaluation of the wider environment and leveraging on changes in an innovative manner that is beneficial to the wider community, faculty and students.

Our major concerns for start- up purposes are:
a. initial and continuous fundraising and
b. establishing an LMS system for posting courses, online teaching, etc.
Of course, having an LMS in place has to be the first priority. While there is much information about LMS on the web, does anybody know of any individual who can help us in this regard. That person can also be invited to be a Director.
Fundraising:
With respect to this< I would like to share a few ideas and invite your comments:
.... development of workplace relevant courses which would provide a basis for long term relationships with such organizations that such students are attached to.
... develop an offer Business Development courses. These would provide students with a skill or expand their skills or strengthen their skill set. Such courses should also include introductory business development offerings like HRM, Marketing and Public Relations< Essentials of Management, Basic Strategic Planning. The idea is that each student on completion of this certificate course will be guided or aide in setting up their personal small business. This can help us to begin a Small Business Incubator Project.
These suggestions, we know require that the LMS be put in place first.
