Well, the simplest would be to put the picture with the airfoil trace as a background, define some points on it, then connect it with a spline. That way you don't need a coordinates file. This, and any similar steps assume you can take a good picture of an airfoil section...

Also, there are tools, such as Webplotdigitizer, which I really like and used many times before for similar purpose and know it works well.

You can use an image as the background and then it will extract the coordinates after you set up what to look for. It is very simple to use. Or search the internet for any other curve digitizer solution.

you can use a software to extract the coordinates from a photo, e.g. GetData. It is free. The idea is to open a photo, set values for min and max x and y axes. Then, put the cursor at any edge of the airfoil and the software will automatically trace the profile and shows the data in columns that you can easily move to Excel.
