I currently plot a factor which is unitless. As I know so far, symbol "1" can be omitted in specifying the values of dimensionless quantities. I could not decide whether I leave it without a symbol or include [1].
I am open to all your suggestions.

You are right in your proposal. It is basically named as unity.

If it is a real unitless factor you should skip the "1".
But what is about dimensionless units such as for example radian.
In such a case I would not skip the unit even its 'value' is "1" just for maintaining transparency of its meaning.

Thank you for the answers. I calculated ‘kurtosis’ over a non-Gaussian distribution. I am wondering whether I should add anything because it is unitless factor though.
Even if the statistical variable x has got a dimension ( i.e. x may have has got a unit different from "1") the kurtosis w is a dimension less number due to its inherent ratio of basically the deviation from the mean value xmean and the standard deviation s. So there is no reason to attach a unit to the kurtosis.
