I'm not sure what qualifies a standard IoT study, but here are some examples of what has been actually implemented.  The first link, once you get past the marketing stuff, has three example use cases done in manufacturing.  The second link has pointers to  case studies in a variety of industries.  Again, lots of marketing material there but real case studies are included.
