I am a 3rd year Social Work Student and am currently researching in the field of hospital discharge. I am aware of the work by Justin Waring, Simon Bishop and Fiona Marshall and I am looking for alternative research in order for me to analyse the research methodology for my final piece of work.

It really depends on what your research is oriented towards as hospital discharge itself spans several areas including patient safety, patient health needs, social care etc.
There is a good paper by Christina Victor, which is a large retrospective study examining older patient’s hospital use, care and discharge. Interestingly it also provides a discussion on the factors associated with delayed discharge of older people which is common amongst this subgroup. The study is:

In terms of methodology, you may benefit from a book by Jon Glasby entitled: 'Integrated health and social care, hospital discharge', which discusses methodological limitations to consider when conducting research in this area.
