I have studied throughput of code division based packet transmission. At the receiver, the detector determine whether the received packet is success or not. In my research, i considered a simple detector which determines a packet is successfully received, if the received SINR is greater than predetermined threshold.
Do you know any that kind of detector in practical application?

In radio communication, the detection of data reliably at the receiver determines the success or failure of the link. The success at the receiver is measured by BER , which in, turn, depends on the value of SINR. If the detected SINR is consistently higher than the threshold SINR, the BER will be low.
Now, in radio communication, the SINR undergoes fluctuations due to multi-path signals, local RF noises etc. Therefore, a good receiver must be designed for flexibility.
This margin of flexibility depends on network also. For cellular network, mainly co-channel interference is considered. The circuit for the receiver has to be designed with the possibilities in mind. I have designed one for my experiments but it is difficult to get one as a ready product in the market.
