A colleague at Dublin City University Maeve O'Brien worked for our Department (Ministry) of Education and Science on well-being and produced a summary of research on wellbeing. Her email is you might like to contact her. Ah, I have the link for you. Good luck with the project. http://www.ncca.ie/ga/Foilseach%C3%A1n/Tuarasc%C3%A1lacha/Well-being_and_Post-Primary_Schooling_A_review_of_the_literature_and_research.pdf
I would also like to know how Common Core, standardized testing, teacher evaluations, and the ability to maintain a stable and secure family life both financially and emotionally enter into this relationship.
Thank you Hugh - this is a great review and there are excellent leads for me in well-being. The focus diverges from mine in that teacher well-being rather than student well-being is central to my research - even though I understand how tightly woven these will be.
Jill I have read work by G.Gordon connecting teacher well-being and evaluations also an article by M.Rana attributes well-being to both the workplace and home.
