I want to try and compare suggested methods for Hazel Grouse mapping. This species is declining in many parts of European range and also was listed on Annex I Bird Directive of European Union so knowledge about population size and crude densities are crucial for their appropriate conservation. In Serbia for now the data about this basic ecological parameters don't exist. Some specific mapping was started last year (spring and autumn sesions) by small team, but results are very modest for now and numbers don't seems realistic (densities are to low). We used ''Scandinavian'' metodology according Swenson (1991) with stop points and mechanic mouth whistling device.
