I am not sure which kind of data you mean with "raw". Identification methods use necessarily real measured data, which have to be conditioned for the identification (e.g. drift and mean value elimination). Anyway, there are several methods for the parameter estimation of PDE. See for example (an the given references in these papers):

I am not sure what parameter you would like to identify. Identification is a part of the inverse problems of Field Theory. The best method i the FEM. If you will be more specific about your problem more precise answer I could give you.
