its really true, research in this area is scanty. we did some work using systems thinking to access resource impact on the quality of life among women farmers in developing countries: evidence from Ghana and also in Vietnam Using a systemic approach to improve the quality of life for women in small-scale agriculture: Empirical evidence from Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. I am sure you can find some interesting information here.
