When it comes to service-base digital businesses, I believe IT service management approaches can be used. With regard to innovations in IT services, I recommend the analogous application of ITIL, especially concepts and models from the books "Service Strategy" (especially the chapters "Service Strategy Principles" and "Service Strategy") and "Continual Service Improvement" (especially the chapter "Continual Service Improvement processes"). I also recommend the use of the COBIT 2019 Core Model, especially the Management Objectives "APO 04 Managed Innovation", "BAI 05 Managed Organizational Change" and "BAI 06 Managed IT Changes". Since these descriptions are the basis of assessments by auditors, they should be suitable for your question.

Adding to what Michael Graham said, ISO56001 (formerly ISO50501) talks about Strategic Intelligence and ties it with other components of the innovation management system standard like "Context of the Organisation", "Leadership", "Planning", "Performance Evaluation" and "Improvement". In the context of Information Technology, also refer to "Service Strategy" in IT Service Management frameworks (ITIL, ISO20000). Generally, service improvements and results of lessons learnt within the service management context, provide the necessary inputs for innovation within the context of IT service management. The same is true for CMMI 2.0.
