Crops evolving in drier areas could have drought tolerance traits. The same is true for crops evolving in acidic growing regions; they may possess acidity tolerance traits. However, in most of the cases acid soils occur in wet regions especially with good vegetation cover. Drier regions are well identified by having saline soil types. Because of these I think that finding a crop plant naturally possessing both drought and acidity tolerance traits may be a rare phenomenon. What do you think?
