frequently i need to analyse by LC-MS samples containing polysorbate. consequently, i experience high background in the other analysis, and the next analysis are interfered by the tween.
i was wandering if is there any efficient method for washing and removing efficiently any polysorbate residues from the ESI-MS source and the LC-UV components.

I have analyzes polysorbate matrices relatively frequently in the work I do. On my system, which is a UPLC chromatographic platform and APCI ionization, I honestly have not encountered background from polysorbate 80 (in subsequent analyses that is). Perhaps that is our system or my method. Without knowing your specific method, I'd say you probably have to rinse your system with organic solvent, and perhaps manually clean the ion source. Polysorbate 80 is non-ionic so pH shouldn't really help with the cleaning process. Unfortunately, other than this suggestion, I don't know of any quick and sure-fire way of cleaning polysorbate from your system.
