I need a research paper which has found any correlation of the diagonal shear strength of half size (650x650 mm) and full size (1200x1200 mm) unreinforced masonry walls.
ASTM does not provide any correlation for small wallets and big wall. Building and testing many 1200mm x 1200mm walls is very difficult and time consuming.
Any help would be appreciated.
According to my knowledge , there is no relation for diagonal shear strengths determined by scaled specimen and standard specimen recommended by ASTM. However, it is for sure that due to size effect, the half scaled specimen will predict relatively over estimated strength.
Depending upon the nature of investigation You or may not ignore this size effect. Details on nature of investigation might be useful in this regard
