Is there a way of getting species assessments per country by the IUCN Redlist?
For example if would like to get the quantity of mammals that have been assessed in each country, how would I go about doing that? I have explored four different R packages, the website itself, and a few other supplementary code sets and still have found nothing that can get this information.
The rredlist R package is the closest thing that comes to it, but they only allow you to pull one country at a time, and only at the species level, not a higher taxonomic rank, which makes (the seemingly simple) thing I'm trying to do incredibly difficult.
Nevermind, I figured it out... You have to change checkboxes that exist in your own IUCN profile and not on the advanced search function, for some reason.

Hey all, I'm going to leave this up in case anyone else needs the info, but as you can see I've already answered my own question. In the future if anyone needs to do this, do the following:
1. make an IUCN redlist account
2. under your account settings, go to "edit profile" and at the bottom of the page under "download options" click the "country" checkbox.
3. click on "advanced" next to the search bar, then under the "taxonomy" drop down list, click the arrow for "animalia", then again for "chordata", and check the "mammalia" checkbox.
4. click "download" and then click "search results".
5. download the zip file when its finished preparing, and then import the .csv file named "countries.csv" into R.
6. in R run the command: data.frame(table(countries$name))
7. You now have a data frame of all countries with the quantity of IUCN evaluations for mammals.
