Amphibian conservation demands that less specimens are collected for parasitological investigations. Is there a means of detecting species of helminth parasites within a host without having to sacrifice the host? How can we make parasitological investigations of amphibians more sustainable?

I think it is difficult to detect the presence of helminth parasites without killing the host. However during rainy seasons you can visit the places where you can find amphibians in large numbers and there may be chances of finding naturally killed hosts.
Those ones naturally killed in their own habitat may not have most parasites as many ,mostly helminths could have dropped off...
Hi, i think you can by examining the feces, but it will not give you an accurate result. In addition you can test blood parasites, if you want. Good luck.
It will all depend on the type of work you intend to do (taxonomic, ecological, etc.). Adult individuals will hardly be found in feces, and to define species we usually need adult parasites, so euthanasia is necessary. Good lucky!
