Yes, there are a number of successful operational plants processing automobile shredder residue. One example is the Dura-Shred Automobile Shredder Residue (ASR) plant in New Jersey, USA, which has been in operation since 2003. The plant processes and recycles ASR from new and used car shredding operations and is certified by the International Recycling Quality Plan (IRQP).
