Androids have outsold the PC and after witnessing the ability of snort in intrusion detection for networks, could anyone tell me whether we can use snort for intrusion detection on portable devices like mobiles?

The reason why snort because of its popularity, flexibility and open source.
Due to high tech capabilities like accessing e-mails,internet,banking etc from Mobiles making them more vulnerable PC's.
I was just wondering is there a mobile version of IDS like snort for protection
