Studies of this nature are usally conducted using radio-labeld compounds, and then tracing their movement and metabolites in plant tissue.... In casses where equipment such as a scintilation counter to detect and quantify the radio-labled material are limmiting, is it feasible to employ HPLC/UV for the residue analysis???
I assume that in most of the cases an analysis by HPLC/UV will be a very difficult approach. If you have no equipment to detect radioactive material, you should at least have access to a LC-MS system to detect some traces of known metabolites in such a complex matrix.
