This fact has been observed. However, it is a little too much to say that deflecting photons due to a gravitational field is in fact the bending of space. In other words, not bending the space causes the photons to deviate.

Yes, there is a connection between Gravitation and Electromagnetism: both are long ranged gauge interactions. This fact was used in 1919 for Kaluza and Klein for introducing their model in five dimensions where Electromagnetism and Gravitation appear unified in one only formalism. Unfortunatelly nobody has interpreted this five dimension and also the gravitation and electromagnetism behave as two independent interactions written in Riemann geometry which generalizes the gravitation Einstein's equations. This model is nothing more than a historical attempt that is not accepted like a real unification in electroweak interaction.

What is well accepted are the Einstein-Maxwell field equations with an staticsolution as Reissner–Nordström metric for a huge gravitational body as could be a charged black hole. And without an advance in the quantization of gravitation is difficult to find one unification of both interactions at microscopic level.

I think that when we can express a fundamental unit of a field according to the unitary characteristics of the other field we have unified the two fields.

For example, if we can express the electric charge unit according to graviton characteristics we can consider that the two fields can be expressed one according to the other. This in my opinion means to have a connection between them.

That is true, but nobody knows how to do it. The electric charge has not gravitational characteristics as the graviton is without electric charge.

We can express electric charge according to electron radius, universal constant of gravitation, graviton mass, graviton radius and the number of gravitons that make up the electron. The calculations are accurate. I do not know if you saw equation 140 in the extract from the attached file, but the result is the exact value of electric charge unit.

That means we can express the electromagnetic field using the particularities of gravitational field.

We can establish a connection if we try to express the photons (the electromagnetic field) in numbers of gravitons. The only possibility of finding the graviton it is just theoretical due to its immeasurable size. We can set a theoretical method using some accurate measurements to identify the graviton. Using the result we can verify the accuracy by calculating certain known values or universal constants. In this way we can obtain a verifiable result for graviton and can express the gravitational field.

in my last short communication "The Cosmological Constant" I indicate how are connected the universal constant of gravity with electric charge and the graviton characteristics (the mass and radius). Reducing all these values to a much smaller common ground (the graviton) we obtain a connection between them.

Of course, all calculations can be verified with indicated values for graviton.
