The useful applications as reactive powder can be made, glass powder and red bricks powder are also used for cement replacement in concrete, in mortar for better finishes bricks powder uses in practice.
They both are reactive. Reactivity of glass powder is related to its fineness. Based on my experience, glass powder with an average particle size of maximum 20 micron can improve the properties of concrete, while coarser glass powder can cause sever ASR distress. Ground brick is not as effective as very fine glass powder.
Both are pozzolanic and contain reactive silica and if ground to a sufficient fineness will react in the presence of the lime released during the cement hydration. The lime acts as an activator or catalyst. They could be used as supplementary cementitious materials in concrete.
